The so-called East Coast sub sandwich is the signature item on the Penn Station menu. All the meals are cooked in the open kitchen, in full view of the customer. According to the company, the sandwiches are made using USDA steak, the potatoes are fried in peanut oil, while the lemonade is prepared from scratch every morning using hand-squeezed lemons. The menu itself is smaller than those of the company’s competitors, though.
Penn Station prices are typically higher than those of such well-known sub restaurants as Subway or Quiznos. Established in 1983, the Penn Station chain currently includes over 290 locations in more than 13 US states.
