Since 1983, when Jimmy John’s was founded, it has grown to more than 2,600 locations (2017). The sub sandwich restaurant chain operates in more than 42 states. Around 98% of the restaurants are franchised.
Jimmy John’s menu is pretty simple. It’s based on the four types of sub sandwiches: Plain Slims (sub sandwiches without any vegetables or sauce), 8″ Sub Sandwiches (with a variety of ingredients, from provolone cheese and avocado spread to cucumbers, tomatoes, and mayo), Giant Club Sandwiches, and the so-called J. J. Gargantuan, which is a huge sandwich with more than 12 ingredients. Also, the menu includes several sides (cookies, potato chips, pickles) and drinks.
It’s not that easy to correctly compare the Jimmy John’s prices with those of its competitors, like Subway and Quiznos, as J. J. offers subs that are 8 inches long, while its competitors offer subs of other sizes.
