Established in 1964, the chain of pizzerias currently operates around 100 outlets. The majority of company-owned restaurants are located in the St. Louis area, while there’re also several restaurants owned by franchisees in the Midwest.
The signature product on the Imo’s menu is the so-called St. Louis-style pizza. It is made of a mixture of several types of cheese called provel cheese. The thin crust pizza is cut into squares. Apart from the St. Louis-style pizza, the menu includes several sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and pasta. There’s a couple of desserts and a special lunch menu.
In comparison with America’s largest pizza chains, Imo’s prices are rather high. This seems absolutely natural, as it’s a smaller, more specialized pizzeria so it can hardly beat its larger competitors regarding prices.
